The Board of Education recognizes the learning benefits of time on task for students. The Board of Education specifies the times that school shall be in session for the purpose of insuring adequate instruction for the students of this District within the limits of the law and the negotiated agreements.

The schools of the District shall be in session for students on those days specified by the State minimum standards.

The Superintendent shall have the authority to determine which school-related activities may be conducted if the schools are closed for a period of time. S/He shall prepare appropriate guidelines for communication to students, parents, and others regarding the scheduling and the conduct of such activities.
