3270 - LESSON PLANS
The Board of Education believes that the instructional activity provided by District teaching staff members is an element essential to the attainment of District goals, objectives and standards.
Implementation of the instructional program requires that each teacher plan his/her program in advance in accordance with the rules of the District. Teachers shall prepare instructional plan books in advance of the class period of their implementation. Plan books will be inspected from time to time and must meet the requirements established by the State minimum standards.
Guidelines for the implementation of this policy shall provide that:
| A. | the format(s) for lesson plans shall be decided by the individual teacher with building principal approval; | |
| B. | lesson plans shall include information pertinent to the effective implementation of a lesson; |
When commercially prepared plans are in use, lesson plans shall simply refer to the appropriate phase or aspect of the program under study.
| C. | lesson plans for individualized programs shall implement the philosophy and purposes of the instructional program; | |
| D. | teachers' lesson plans shall provide adequate directions for substitutes. |
