9500 - RELATIONS WITH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

In order to maintain cordial and constructive relationships with other educational institutions, the District shall:

With State Charted Parochial and Private Schools

		1.	maintain liaison with the administrators of all State chartered private and parochial schools which enroll significant numbers of students resident in this District in order to be aware of any program changes that may be planned which could affect this District.
		2.	determine how this District can advance the education of resident students attending State chartered parochial or private schools by the provision in these schools of special programs.
		3.	cooperate fully in the implementation of all State and Federal programs administered by this District which benefit in whole or in part eligible students attending State chartered private or parochial school.

With Institutions of Higher Education

		1.	welcome representatives of higher education institutes who wish to speak to our students interested in attending their college upon completion of secondary education.
		2.	cooperate with State institutions in the placement and evaluation of practice teachers in accordance with Board policy on student teachers.
		3.	encourage local colleges or branch units to offer for credit college level courses in the schools of this District to adult or continuing education participants.
		4.	encourage local colleges or branch units to provide graduate level courses for the benefit of District staff members in the schools of this District.
