8420B - FIRE DRILLS

In accordance with State law, fire drills are to be conducted periodically, not less than once a month. Building rules are to be prepared by the building principal, but shall include:

 A.When the fire alarm sounds, dismiss students promptly.

 B.Close all windows and doors of room and turn out lights before leaving.

 C.Take class register in order to conduct roll call after all students are vacated.

 D.Caution students to walk silently and to move as directed.

 E.Students should go from the building to a distance at least twice the height of the building walls.

 F.It is the responsibility of the teacher to take the roll as soon as students are out of school and in line to make sure that each student is accounted for.

 G.All personnel must leave the building during a fire drill.

 H.The plan of evacuation shall provide at least one alternative route in case exit or stairways are blocked.
