5335.01 - PERSONAL HYGIENE
The Board of Education is aware that good personal hygiene is necessary to the students success in schools. When the principal receives complaints of poor personal hygiene of any student, from students or other school personnel:
| A. | The student will be counseled by the school nurse on personal hygiene and advised to correct the problem. If necessary, parents/guardian will be notified. | ||
| B. | After the second report of poor personal hygiene, the parents will be advised of the problem, orally or written. Student will again be counseled and advised to take care of the problem within twenty-four (24) hours. | ||
| C. | After the third referral, the student will be excluded from school until the problem is resolved. | ||
| D. | Chronic problems will be referred to the health department to check on the home and also to the Children Services to check on possible child abuse/neglect. If showers are available at the school which the student attends, the student will be given the opportunity to use them. |
