4160 - PHYSICAL EXAMINATION

All new employees, full-time, part-time, and substitute, may be required to have a physical examination at the time of employment by a physician. The expense of said examination shall be borne by the District, except for the TB examination and bus driver physicals paid for by Meigs County Board of Education.

Physical examinations when required must be reported to the Office of the Superintendent before a classified employee starts work. Classified employees of the Board required to file a report who fail to comply with said requirements may be suspended from further service without compensation until the requirements have been met. Candidates for employment who fail to comply with this requirement will not be employed.

The results of all required medical examinations shall be made known to the Superintendent on a confidential basis, discussed with the classified employee, and made a part of his/her personnel record. In the event of an unsatisfactory report regarding a classified employee, the Superintendent shall base any recommendation for action to the Board upon a conference with the physician. Candidates for employment who fail the physical will not be employed.

The Board reserves the right to designate the physician who will perform the Board required examination.
