4121 - CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD CHECK
In compliance with Board of Education policy, the following procedures will be used to request criminal history information on all new employees:
| A. | Only the Superintendent will be authorized to initiate and process a "Request for Criminal History Information" form. | ||
| B. | All candidates for a full-time position will be advised, at the time they seek employment, that a criminal history check may be done. | ||
| C. | A criminal history information check will be only on those persons recommended for employment. | ||
| D. | A person to be recommended for employment will again be informed that: |
| 1. | A criminal history check may be done. | |||
| 2. | A waiver must be signed authorizing the Board to process a "Request for Criminal History Record Information". | |||
| 3. | Employment will be contingent upon receipt of a negative Criminal History Information Report. | |||
| 4. | Information received in the criminal history report will be used for the purpose for which it is intended. |
| E. | When the certified report is submitted by the candidate, a photocopy is to be made for possible insertion in the person's confidential personal file, should s/he be employed, and the original returned to the applicant. |
School Bus Drivers
In accordance with State transportation regulations, the Superintendent shall request the administrator in charge of transportation to conduct an annual review of each school bus driver’s abstract driver record through the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to determine that such drivers have no more than eight (8) points and/or no six (6) point convictions within the last twenty-four (24) month period. In addition, the administrator in charge of transportation will obtain an updated, satisfactory BCII report for each school bus driver being recertified every six (6) years. Satisfactory shall be defined by the same standards applied to other non-certified public school employees.
