4120.01 - SELECTION OF CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES

The following regulations are established to guide employees responsible for the interviewing and screening of classified employee candidates:

 A.Where specific openings exist such notice shall be posted in the schools of this District - and/or worksites for five (5) working days.

 B.Checking of credentials may include, in addition to letters of reference, direct telephone calls to immediate supervisors of the person under question. Pointed questions about personality and performance shall be asked and responses noted.

 C.Terms of employment shall be made known to the candidate at the time of the interview.

 D.For the benefit and use of the School District and the employee, each Treasurer is required to maintain a complete up-to-date personnel file in the Treasurer's office. The records shall include the following information:

  1.correct name, address, and telephone number,

  2.data on education,

  3.any data requested concerning health and/or medical examination,

  4.record of assignments,

  5.evaluation of performance,

  6.a completed application, a check of the individual's credentials with the name of the person doing the checking, and the date(s) of the check.

 F.Applications are to be made in writing to the Superintendent's office.

 G.Applicants may be granted an interview if their credentials indicate they meet the criteria for the position.

In selecting personnel to fill established positions, the Superintendent shall be responsible for selecting from all candidates for employment/recommendation the person who, in his/her judgment, is best qualified to fill each position in accordance with position specifications established by the Board.

Upon employment, the Treasurer shall be responsible for submitting a copy of the W-4 form (or the form provided by the Department) to the Department of Human Services for each new employee, or any person who is rehired or returns to work after a lapse in pay.
