3120B - SELECTION OF ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL
The following procedures shall be utilized in the selection of administrative personnel.
| A. | Each administrative position shall have a job description approved by the Board of Education. Such job description shall include, but not be limited to, the following information relative to each position: |
| 1. | the job title, | |||
| 2. | its function, | |||
| 3. | a description of the reporting relationships of that position, | |||
| 4. | a listing of the responsibilities and authorities assigned to the position, | |||
| 5. | a listing of the requirements established by the Board of Education. |
| a. | The requirements shall deal with education, licensing, experience, and personal characteristics. | ||||
| b. | Each of the requirements shall be defensible in terms of law. |
| B. | The Superintendent shall recommend to the Board the names of persons for appointment to all administrative positions in the District with the exception of the personnel in the office of the Treasurer. | ||
| C. | The Superintendent shall only nominate those candidates who meet the position qualifications established by law, the Ohio Department of Education, and the Board. | ||
| D. | The announcement of openings for licensed personnel shall follow the agreed upon procedures included in the negotiated contracts currently in force and Board policy at the time of the vacancy. | ||
| E. | Applications received in response to the announcement of vacancy shall be reviewed by the administration. | ||
| F. | All qualified candidates meeting the criteria may be invited for a personal interview. | ||
| G. | After all interviews, the Superintendent will then select the most qualified candidate s/he wishes to recommend. | ||
| H. | A letter of notification will be sent to all unsuccessful candidates. |
Upon employment, the Treasurer shall be responsible for submitting a copy of the W-4 form (or the form provided by the Department) to the Department of Human Services for each new employee, or any person who is rehired or returns to work after a lapse in pay.
Any new employee who has either administrative responsibilities and/or supervisory functions with staff is to be provided with a copy of the Ohio Ethics Law and verify receipt by signing and returning Form 3120 F3.
