2431F - GUIDELINES FOR BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL
Code of Conduct
| A. | In Season |
| 1. | All players will ride bus to games. They may return with their parent only. For close games, parents may drive, but no students. | |||
| 2. | Player will at all times take proper care of school equipment and property. | |||
| 3. | Players must attend school one-half (1/2) day to practice or play in games. | |||
| 4. | All players must be covered by private or school insurance. | |||
| 5. | Tobacco, drugs, or alcohol will not be used or in the possession of any player during the season. | |||
| 6. | Players must attend all practice sessions and be on time unless absent from school or excused by coach. | |||
| 7. | If the team stops to eat, all players will behave properly in the restaurant. | |||
| 8. | Players will not direct profanity or obscene gestures toward coaches, umpires, or spectators. | |||
| 9. | Players will at all times abide by the rules and policies set forth by the Southern Local School Board. |
| B. | Out of Season | ||
| A player's behavior will be determined by himself/herself and his/her parents. |
Penalties
Punishment for rule violations will be determined by the coach. It will include:

| C. | removal from game but required to attend | ||
| D. | removal from team |
How to Become a Member
| A. | All players should become involved with the program their freshman year. | ||
| B. | Sophomores that did not play their freshman year may try out for the team. Juniors and seniors may not. | ||
| C. | Students transferring from another baseball/softball program may try out. | ||
| D. | Players that quit the team do so for the rest of their high school career. |
Injuries
If a player misses practice or game because of an injury requiring a doctor's care, s/he must have doctor's release before s/he can return to practice or play.
