General Rules

Most trips will be by school bus -- under certain circumstances, close trips will be by car. Parents are to provide transportation when car trips are used -- NO STUDENT DRIVERS! On all bus trips, students will ride the bus to and from the away trip unless an emergency dictates otherwise.

B.Any athlete, while a member of the basketball team representing Southern High School, at home or away, who destroys, damages, defaces, breaks, or steals property of the school or facilities used for games and practices, including school buses shall make them subject to dismissal from the team. Never get yourself into a situation that could cause embarrassment to yourself, your coaches, or Southern High School.

C.When stopping to eat following away games, students representing the basketball team will behave properly while in the eating establishment. No food or trash is to be left on the tables or on the floor. Improper behavior will not be tolerated!

D.Any athlete who is under penalty of in-school suspension or out-of-school suspension will not be permitted to practice or play during the suspension. They will be eligible to return to practice or play the day following the end of the suspension.

1.It is mandatory that all athletes be covered by insurance.

  2.Forms for injuries:

G.Parents will receive a copy of the entire statement of policies and rules. Both the parents and the players will be asked to read the entire booklet, and they must sign and return a statement stating that they have read and understand all of the rules and policies of the Southern Basketball program.

H.If a player misses practice or game because of an injury requiring a doctor's care, she must have a doctor's release before she can return to practice or play.
