2220A - ADOPTION OF COURSES OF STUDY
New courses of study and revisions to existing courses shall be prepared in accordance with the following criteria. Courses of study shall:
| A. | be consistent with written goals, objectives and identified student needs. | ||
| B. | develop individual talents and interests and serve diverse learning styles to motivate student achievement. | ||
| C. | provide for continuous learning through effective articulation among the schools of this District. | ||
| D. | provide all students access to sufficient programs and services of a library/media facility, classroom collection, or both to support the educational program. | ||
| E. | provide for guidance and counseling to assist in career and academic planning. | ||
| F. | provide a continuum of educational programs and services for school age disabled children, pursuant to law and regulation. |
| G. | provide compensatory education programs for students pursuant to law and regulation. |
The Superintendent will appoint teacher committee members to serve on a county-wide course of study committee to prepare and present each course of study for adoption by the Board of Education.
The Board shall adopt the courses of study after they have been adopted by the County Board of Education.
