1110 - DISTRICT ORGANIZATION
| A. | ADMINISTRATION | ||
| The Board of Education has reserved the right in its discretion to create new positions and specify the number of employees in each category. In compliance with that policy the Board has adopted the following guidelines for the structure of the District organization: |
| 1. | The District shall be organized in the manner known as "Unit Control." Each employee of the District shall be ultimately responsible to the Superintendent unless the law requires otherwise. | |||
| 2. | Each school building shall be under the sole direction of a principal. | |||
| 3. | All professional staff are responsible to their building principal. |
| B. | CONTROL RESPONSIBILITY | ||
| Central Office administrators and supervisors who will be absent for a whole or a part of a day shall notify the Office of the Superintendent. Building principals shall also notify the Office of the Superintendent when they are absent from their post during regular school hours. The message should include the name of the person who will be in charge of the building during the period of absence. | |||
| The foregoing regulation applies when an administrator is absent with or without prior approval, but does not apply in cases where it is necessary for an administrator or supervisor to attend intra-district meetings or to keep intra-district appointments. However, the administrator's or supervisor's office personnel should be aware of his/her exact location in case of an emergency or important telephone call. |
