Introduction of New and Revised Courses of Study and Course Guides
In planning for the introduction of a new or revised course of study, it is essential that teachers are properly oriented and prepared to make effective use of the course. In-service programs, provided by District personnel or outside consultants, should include activities related to both the use of the course and the criteria and standards required for proper evaluation of both student outcomes and course utilization.
Supervision of Courses of Study
The primary responsibility for the supervision of instruction rests with the individual building principal in accordance with Board policies and administrative guidelines related to the District's curriculum. The ESC personnel shall be available at the request of the principal to assist in the proper utilization of courses of study. Principals and other supervisory personnel are to monitor how well each teacher is using the courses of study, help them overcome any difficulties they are encountering, and obtain their suggestions for improvement of the courses. All such suggestions are to be submitted to ESC personnel.
