2131 - EDUCATIONAL OUTCOME GOALS
Since the mission of the District is to provide a quality education for all of the students, the Board of Education believes the mission is being accomplished when students confirm that they have achieved the following educational goals.
The Board of Education believes that the mission of the District has been realized when our students become:
Responsible Citizens
whose perspectives include international, national, community and individual respect and understanding; who realize that they are part of their present and future environment and act rather than wait to react.Problems Solvers
who follow the steps of defining and clarifying problems, seeking relevant data, generating solutions, implementing solutions and evaluating the results with reflection and deliberation; who monitor their own strategies and seek the insights of others while remaining optimistic about the possibilities.Collaborative Team Workers
who contribute to a task and care about those who are working together on that task; who respect the talents and knowledge of others and work cooperatively toward group goals and group success.Competent Communicators
who use strategic skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking to communicate in all the subject areas; who feel comfortable expressing themselves or interpreting ideas artistically; who develop proficiency in their own language and in a second language. The communicator uses technologies to manage the magnitude of information in our diverse societies.Creative Thinkers
who are willing to work at the edge of their competence and achieve solutions, create products and forge new models of thinking; who tolerate uncertainty, seek criticism, withstand setbacks, and still persevere while maintaining high standards.Healthy Individuals
who choose lifestyles that bring physical, emotional, social and spiritual balance; who bring all their talents and energy to each moment and provide positive action in their personal and professional lives. The Board believes that all students in this District will be able to demonstrate these applied learnings, at a level that is commensurate with their age and capabilities.
The Superintendent is charged with the responsibility for providing, through the District's curriculum and appropriate administrative guidelines, opportunities for each student to accomplish these goals as well as a valid means for assessing the extent to which each is accomplished.
Student achievement of these educational goals represents the Board's highest priority. It should be the highest priority, as well, for the administration and for all members of the staff.
