9210 - PARENT ORGANIZATIONS
The Mount Healthy Board of Education believes parent/guardian involvement is an important part of the educational program. A home/school partnership and greater involvement of parents/guardians in the education of their children generally results in higher achievement scores, improved student behavior, and reduced absenteeism. All parents/guardians of students enrolled in the District are encouraged to take an active role in the education of their children.
The teachers and employees of the Mount Healthy Board of Education shall be encouraged to cooperate with parents in the School District to promote the ideals and objectives of the Parent-Teacher Association, Booster, or Advisor Council.
This can be accomplished by regular attendance at meetings, by developing a sincere interest in the operation and workings of this organization and by becoming an active partner to promote the education and training of every child in the Mount Healthy Schools to the full extent of his/her ability and aptitudes.
The Superintendent develops administrative guidelines to ensure this policy is followed. Generally regulations will:
| A. | encourage strong parent-school partnerships; | ||
| B. | provide for consistent and effective communication; | ||
| C. | offer parents/guardians ways to assist and encourage their children to do their best; | ||
| D. | offer ways parents/guardians can support classroom learning activities; | ||
| E. | provide opportunities for parents to be involved in the design, operation, and evaluation of the total educational program. |
