3420 - PROFESSIONAL STAFF VACATIONS AND HOLIDAYS
The school calendar, as adopted by the Board, shall establish the school recess periods and holidays for all professional staff members employed on a school-year basis.
Except as holidays have been declared for the School District or vacation days have been scheduled, all certificated staff members employed on a twelve (12) month basis (260 work days per year) shall be expected to work during the recess periods of the school year.
Administrative Vacations
Administrative personnel employed on a twelve (12) month basis will receive a vacation during the contract year according to the following schedule:

five (5) weeks vacation |
The vacation period will be based upon the number of year served in education.
In addition to the above, all administrators may receive up to five (5) additional vacation days based upon their administrative evaluation and at the recommendation of the Superintendent.
Upon request, administrators may convert up to five (5) days of vacation to their daily rate of pay, on an annual basis.
The maximum number of vacation days that an administrator may carry over on any given year is twenty (20).
A written request for vacation shall be submitted to the Superintendent of schools for approval. Vacations will be allowed provided they do not handicap the operation of the schools.
