2262 - LATCH-KEY PROGRAMS

The Board of Education is concerned about the growing number of children who may be in need of supervision beyond the regular school day.

Since these children constitute a significant and growing portion of the student population, the Board shall seek to provide appropriate programs and services for students in grades K thru 6, through the use of District staff and facilities.

Any fee or tuition income from the program is to be deposited in a special fund and no funds shall be expended for the program from the General Fund other than for:

 A.facilities, if currently used for other purposes;

 B.utilities furnished in conjunction with the program;

 C.transportation by regular school buses, without Board approval;

 D.other expenditures as approved by the Board.

The Superintendent shall establish administrative guidelines to implement the program.
