On-line courses through Indiana University are offered to high school students. Students must obtain prior approval before enrolling and are responsible for payment of the course fees. Without permission the high school will not give credit for such courses. A student may take no more than twelve (12) months to complete an on-line course. Permission to take courses is given under any of the following circumstances:
|A.||The course is not offered through the high school.|
|B.||The course is offered but student is unable to take it due to scheduling conflict.|
|C.||The course is a supplement to summer school and extended homebound instruction.|
|D.||The principal and parents agree the student requires differentiated or accelerated learning environment.|
It is the priority of all educational employees in the high school to meet the needs of all our students.
Students currently enrolled in Greencastle High School may enroll in an online class if it is aligned with the State of Indiana academic standards. Students must seek permission from an approval board prior to enrollment. The approval board will consist of the principal, counselor, and teacher from the department of the requested online course. Students are discouraged from taking more than one online course during their high school education. Early graduation is not considered an appropriate use of online courses.
