The Board shall purchase adequate insurance coverage for buildings, contents, equipment, and outside apparatus. The Superintendent or his/her designee shall be responsible to maintain appraisal information and adequate inventories upon which to recommend the proper amounts of insurance to the Board. Insurance coverage should be consolidated when possible into one blanket policy.

Insurance shall be purchased from a fully licensed and certified agent and shall be bid on an annual or term basis to the advantage of the School District.

The Superintendent or his/her designee is responsible to develop specifications for all insurance programs and may secure consultant assistance in developing said specifications if, in his/her judgement, such assistance is needed.
