5114 - FOREIGN AND FOREIGN-EXCHANGE STUDENTS

The Board of Education recognizes the positive cultural benefits to the students, staff, and the community in meeting students from other countries and in having foreign students as members of the student body of this District.

The District reserves the right to place a limit on the number of foreign and foreign exchange students permitted to enroll in the District schools. The number will equal no more than one (1) percent of each building’s total enrollment. In the event such a limit is established, public notification will take place not later than June 1st of the preceding school year.

The Board may permit the admission of foreign students and foreign-exchange students (from recognized and approved student exchange programs) who are residing in this District. All nonresident students in both categories shall be eligible for admission on the same basis as other nonresident students.
