3215 - USE OF TOBACCO BY PROFESSIONAL STAFF

The use of tobacco products shall be prohibited in all buildings, and on all property, owned by DeWitt Public Schools.

Such property shall include a building, facility, or structure and other real estate owned, leased, or otherwise controlled by DeWitt Public Schools; including, but not limited to, the open air stadium and grounds around school buildings.

Tobacco products shall include any preparation of tobacco to be inhaled, chewed, or placed in a person's mouth. Use includes the carrying by a person of a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe or other lighted smoking device; the inhaling or chewing of a tobacco product, the placing of a tobacco product within a person's mouth.

Violators are subject to criminal penalties as specified in Public Act 459 of 1993, and may applicable local ordinances.
